Chief Minister to review flood situation

Silchar, June 21: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is slated to visit Barak Valley on Saturday in order to review the flood situation after a survey of the worst affected areas. Relevant to point out that the Chief Minister had a detailed discussion with the Prime Minister about the floods in Assam with particular focus on Barak Valley. He was assured by the Prime Minister of sufficient funds to meet the crisis. In the meantime, with water level of Barak and its tributaries receding, the threat of further deluge is ruled out for the present. The Chief Minister would be present at the joint review meeting of the three districts of Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi.
