Chief Minister to visit Silchar tomorrow

Silchar, Oct 9: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal will visit Silchar on October 11. “As of now we are not sure of his fil schedule. As per the tentative programme list, he will arrive at Kumbirgram airport on Wednesday at around 1 pm. From there he will head towards Circuit House. At around 3.30 pm Chief Minister will attend and iugurate ‘Ujjawala Jyoti’ programme at Town Club,” said Uday Shankar Goswami, Cachar district president of BJP, at a press-meet held at the party office at Itkhola of this town on Monday.
 “It will be followed by a meeting on mami Barak with all the leading citizens and persolities of Barak Valley at Banga Bhawan of this town. A long discussion is needed for planning a grand and gala event and a cultural fiesta like Nomami Barak. The tentative dates for the event are November 18, 19 and 20,” Uday Shankar Goswami added to say. He further said that Sarbanda Sonowal would visit DNNK School, Silchar on the following day at 9 am for participating in Gunotsav. “In the last phase of his journey, he will iugurate Udharbond Stadium and give 61 crore for it,” said Uday Shankar Goswami. Among others present at the press-meet included former Union Minister Kabindra Purkayastha, BJP’s organizatiol secretary of the three districts, Nitya Bhushan Dey and Debashish Shome.
