Chief Minister visits Victoria Girls Higher Secondary School

DIBRUGARH, June 6: Chief Minister of Assam Sarbanda Sonowal visited the Victoria Girls Higher Secondary School in Dibrugarh on Monday where he was felicitated by the school authorities. The CM as part of the World Environment Day, distributed saplings among the girl students of the educatiol institution.

 The World Environment Day on June 5 was also widely celebrated in various parts of the district by different social organizations and institutions. Tea Saplings were planted by the members of  Zubin Garg Fan Club and to mark the occasion, a procession  was also  taken out by CRPF 171 Battalion carrying placards depicting the need for preservation of trees for a pollution free environment. The Public sector undertaking Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited also observed the day by organizing programme such as online quiz competition for employees, drawing competition for children of employees on the this year’s WED theme “connecting people to ture”. Banners were displayed at various plant location to promote environment conservation and eco- friendly practices. The event concluded with tree plantation at Lepetkata , Lakuwa and Duliajan unit of BCPL.
