Chief Minister's dream project turns into farce in gaon!

GAON, August 30: The Chief Minister’s dream project Shargadeo Rudra Sigha Adarsha Pukhuri under DRDA in 18 blocks of gaon district is turning out to be a farce as some corrupt DRDA officials, BDOs and junior engineers have allegedly misappropriated a lion’s share of the estimated and allotted fund of the master project which was around Rs 2.70 crore.

Sources have alleged and documents have revealed that under the project, the district DRDA estimated and allotted Rs 15 lakh per pool in 18 blocks like  Baziagaon, Barhampur, Batradraba, Bikandi, Dhalpukhuri, Dalonghat, Jugijan, Juria, Kathiatoli, Khagarijan, Laokhuwa, Lamdimg, Udali, Pashim Kaliabor, Pakhimoria, Raha and Rupahihat. But soon after allotment of fund, the BDOs of the blocks allegedly manipulated the guidelines and instead of digging new pool under the master scheme, the DRDA officials tried to repair the old pools and waste water-logging areas and by doing so, the officials allegedly used only Rs 2 lakh-Rs 3 lakh of the allotted fund and the rest of the money of the scheme was allegedly misappropriated.
