Chief Minister's Special Award Scheme launched in Jorhat

Jorhat, January 21:  State Education Minister Sarat Borkotoky launched the Chief Minister’s Special Award Scheme-2015 at the Jorhat District Sports Association ground on Thursday.

Borkotoky said that seeing the overwhelming performance of the students, the Chief Minister had announced another scheme for students securing second division with minimum 50 per cent marks in various examitions like HSLC examition, High Madrassa examition and other equivalent Board examition of Assam under the Education (Secondary) department, Government of Assam.

Rekibuddin Ahmed, Parliamentary Secretary, PK Borthakur, Principal Secretary, DS Pegu, Maging Director AMTRON, Jorhat Deputy Commissioner  Solanki Vishal Vasant and Additiol Deputy Commissioner Bubul Lekharu were present.

Over 1,600 second division holders were awarded with tablet PCs. Till now 78,513 students have already been awarded with Net computer and Tablet PC under the Chief Minister’s Special Scheme and on completion of distribution of Tablet PC for 2015 under the scheme, the total number of beneficiaries will cross 1.20 lakh.

Rekibuddin Ahmed and PK Borthakur congratulated the awardees and advised them to perform better in the higher secondary exam so that they can get more such awards from several public and private sector enterprises. Both said that OIL giants like OIL India Ltd, OIL India, ONGC and NRL are a big asset to Assam and they are always on the lookout for bright and brilliant students.
