Chief Secretary elected new president of MBSG

SHILLONG, Sept 7: An Induction Ceremony of the Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, KS Kropha as the new President of the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides (MBSG) was held today at Raj Bhavan in  Shillong in presence of the Governor of Meghalaya and Patron of the MBSG, V Shanmugathan.

The ceremony was also attended by Meghalaya Chief Information Commissioner and former President, MBSG, PBO Warjri, Principal Secretary MS Rao, Commissioner Secretary, DP Wahlang, Commissioner Secretary and State Chief Commissioner, MBSG, FR Kharkongor, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya State Branch, WR Marbaniang, Vice Patrons, Life Members and senior officials.

During the programme, prizes were also distributed to winners of the essay writing competition on the three Heroes of the State – U Tirot Sing Syiem, U Kiang ngbah and Pa Togan Sangma. Larisa Blah, Umpling Presbyterian Secondary School, Kimkime R Sangma, Seven Set Higher Secondary School and Saphi Badondor W Makdoh, Church of God bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize respectively. Ibapaka Khongjee, Umpling Presbyterian Secondary School and Imatti Warimi Thabah, Seven Set Higher Secondary School got the consolation prizes.
