Child dies from drowning in river

Bongaigaon, Feb 5: A 10-year old child died on Sunday by drowning in the river.

This incident took place in the No. 1 Dhupuri area under Manikpur PS of Bongaigaon where a 10-year old girl med Pompi Das, daughter of Baneswar Das, resident of No, 1 Dhupuri, went to the nearby Mah River for a bath at about 11 am.

While bathing, she drowned in the river. The local people searched for her and after half an hour, her body was found. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
