Child dies of electrocution

GOLAGHAT (Dhekial), July 2: A 10-year old child died of electrocution on Sunday morning at Ahom Gaon under Golaghat Police station. The deceased child has been identified as Indrajit Saikia, son of Jiban Saikia and Makhoni Saikia. According to report,  Indrajit Saikia unfortutely came into contact with a ked electric wire which was laying near his house.  He was admitted immediately at Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital. Later, the doctor declared him dead.  The local people alleged that due to negligence of the department concerned, this incident took place. The electricity department officials often fail to repair the damaged electric wires in the area on time due to which such tragic incidents take place.
