Child Friendly Spaces launched in Dhemaji

DHEMAJI, Aug 24: Recognizing the vulnerability of children and families in the post flood situation in Assam, Save the Children in collaboration with Rural Vounteers Centre (RVC) has initiated emergency response support to the children and families affected in Dhemaji district. Setting up Child Friendly Space is one of the crucial interventions of Save the Chldren’s programme to address the trauma and extend the psycho social support to the affected children. A Child Friendly Space (CFS) is a safe place to provide children a protected environment in which they can participate in organized activities to play, socialize, learn, and express themselves as they rebuild their lives. The organization has now planned to set up Child Friendly Spaces in seven locations of Dhemaji district in collaboration with District Administration. In this regard the first Child Friendly Space was launched today at Jamuguri in Joi block of Dhemaji district.
