Child kidppers held

SHILLONG, Dec 27: The city police along with the Special Cell of SP office today arrested two persons involved in kidpping of a 7-year-old boy hailing from Uttar Pradesh.

The City police sounded high alert after receiving information on December 26, from Sultanpur Police of Uttar Pradesh that a boy of 7 years was kidpped from Jhuara village and the kidppers were suspected to be in Shillong. A ransom amount was also demanded for the release of the boy. Soon after the alert from their counterpart, the city police maged to locate the presence of the kidppers at Police Bazar area.  Following which the police immediately started checking of all the hotels in Police Bazar and the efforts was successful when the boy was rescued from one of the hotels. The arrested kidppers have been identified as Shyamsundar Shitala Prasad Shukla and his wife Shalini Shyamsundar Shukla both from Nongmynsong.  The police informed that the two persons were arrested earlier by Shillong Police in a similar crimil case.
