LAKHIMPUR, July 29: A group of young children today took to the street of North Lakhimpur to make the people aware of cleanliness. The group performed a street play for creating awareness on cleanliness in front of the District Court here.

The group was led by Surakhya, a Lakhimpur based NGO, in collaboration with Lakhimpur Theatre Academy. The children group cleaned different areas of Lakhimpur town and requested the public to use dustbins to throw the garbage and maintain cleanliness in their surroundings.

“It is matter of shame that the children has come out to clean the town when the elders were supposed to set examples of cleanliness. This initiative was taken to keep the streets clean and maintain cleanliness of the environment,” said a local.
