Itagar, Aug 25: To commemorate the sacrifice made by martyr Hangpan Dada for the country and also to invoke a sense of patriotism in the minds of children, the children Park of Khonsa Township was on Thursday rechristened after martyr Hangpan Dada as “Martyr Hangpan Dada Children Park”.
A programme in this regard was organized at the Bo-Peep Primary School here by the Khonsa unit of Women Welfare Association (WWA) in collaboration with the Khonsa Forest division.
Tirap DC PN Thungon, who graced the occasion as chief guest, while terming the day as historic for the people of the district, recalled the sacrifices of late Dada.
“The children park shall now act as a symbol and a source of inspiration for all. Through this park the children as well as the elders can inculcate the spirit of patriotism, dedication and importance of service to the tion. Most importantly the park will now always make us remember the sacrifice of Martyr Dada,” said Thungon.
