Children's Day celebrated

GUWAHATI, Nov 21: City based organization VOICE today celebrated Children’s Day with some city children at Guwahati Railway Station here. Several children from Guwahati Railway Colony and Latashil Primary School performed various cultural programme including songs and dances on the occasion. Some children also recited poems at the event.

Government Railway Police (GRP) Officer-in-Charge Pradip Talukdar, Gauhati High Court Advocate Amal Dutta and jourlist Sudeep Sarma spoke to the children on the occasion. VOICE member Priyadarshika Medhi performed songs at the programme.

Babita Saikia, chairperson of VOICE, said that the origition will work for the welfare of the children besides trying to eradicate superstition from the society. The programme was compeered by Juli Baruah.
