Children's Day observed in gaon, blood dotion camp held

GAON, November 15: North Eastern Development Council for Human Resource (NEDCHR) observed Children Day on Saturday in gaon.

The Council arranged a special function in which Dr Pulen Laskar, Prab Saikia and social worker Khagen Gogoi were present as guests of honour.  The secretary of the Council, Dr. Jayanta Sarma anchored the function and highlighted the importance of making good citizens out of children.

A spot drawing and painting competition were also held in the premise of the Council’s head office in gaon. On the other hand, All Asom Gramya Puthibharal Sangstha, Gram Vikash Parishad and Asom Sut Xanmilani also observed Children’s Day in their head offices in gaon. Various competitions were also held.

Nehru Yuba Kendra, a voluntary organization under the Ministry for Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of India, also organized a day-long programme and also arranged a blood dotion camp on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of independent India, Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru. The function was formally iugurated by Dr Indra rayan Mahanta and the blood dotion camp was iugurated by the Superintendant of gaon Central Jail, Govinda Malakar. In his speech, Malakar stressed the importance of blood dotion.
