'Chinese investment in Pakistan neither loan nor grant'

Islamabad, April 29: Pakistan Prime Minister waz Sharif has said the money being spent by Chi in Pakistan is not a loan or grant but an investment, a media report said on Wednesday. Before leaving for Islamabad from London on Tuesday night, Sharif told reporters that Chinese investment in Pakistan under Chi-Pakistan Economic Corridor project covers construction of motorways and installation of energy projects, Radio Pakistan reported. He said a new Gwadar city would be built with the cooperation of Chi and its benefits will be reaped by the entire country.

Describing Britain as a friend country, Sharif said, it plays an important role in the field of education in Pakistan. “Relations between Britain and Pakistan are very good,” he said, adding that Britain appreciates Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism. (IANS)
