Chirang district administration chalks out I-day programmes

 KOKRAJHAR, August 9: The Chirang district administration is all set to organize the ensuing Independence Day in a befitting manner.

Chirang DIPRO G. rzary said as instructed by the State Government, the district administration has already chalked out to celebrate I-Day with various programmes from August 13 to August 15. As per the programme, a yoga display at Kajalgaon market shed followed by cleanliness and plantation drive at JSB Hospital, illumition of office buildings and debate competition at Kajalgaon High School among the students will be held on August 13.

A half marathon, with the theme ‘Run for Unity’ will be organized on August 14. Like the preceding years, the main programme of the celebration of Independence Day, which is to be held centrally at Kajalgaon District Parade Ground on August 15, will start with the playing of prabhat pheri. This will be followed by hoisting of tiol flag in all residential buildings, government and semi-government offices, educatiol institutions, procession of school and college students to the parade ground, swahid tarpan by VIP, hosting of tiol flag centrally by the VIP, parade, cultural programme, distribution of awards, grants-in-aid and  friendly football match between DC-XI Vs SP-XI.

The Deputy Commissioner,  Rupak Kr. Mazumder has requested all the people of the district, irrespective of caste and creed, to be present in the programme so as to make it a grand success.
