Chirang district administration going all out for NRC update

KOKRAJHAR, May 3: The Chirang district administration has taken all the measures to implement the ongoing NRC update works in the district. This was informed by the DIPRO, Chirang, G. rzary.

Sources said the district administration has published the legacy data across the district at the notified Seva Kendras and polling stations considering centrally located public places for display of records and for issue and receipt of the application forms. It has already carried out community-level awareness meetings in rural and urban areas besides playing of NRC jingles and distribution of leaflets for generating awareness among the general public on the necessity of getting their mes registered in the NRC.

It has already appointed 26 Local Registrars of Citizen Registration for 26 Notified Seva Kendras (8 in Sidli Circle, 5 in Bengtal Circle and 13 in Bijni Circle) and 467 polling stations involving the BLOs as Field Level Officers and imparted training on the subject.

On Sunday, a training-cum-workshop was also held under the chairmanship of Sidli Circle Officer Karmadev Brahma in the conference hall of the Sidli Development Block at Sidli. It was attended by all the LRCRs and FLOs appointed for the Sidli and Bengtal circle areas. As the Circle Registrar of Citizen Registration of these two Circles, Karmadev Brahma outlined the roles and responsibilities of the officers and the detailed steps to be followed during the issue and receipt of the application forms at their level, the sources added.
