Chirang district administration launches five-day cleanliness drive

KOKRAJHAR, June 22: In connection with the weeklong cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan which got underway from Monday and will continue till June 26, a meeting was held recently under the chairmanship of Chirang DC Rupak Kr. Mazumdar in the conference hall of the DC office at Kajalgaon. This was informed by the DIPRO, Chirang G. rzary.

The meeting discussed about the plan of action for successful implementation of the programme. Accordingly, stressing upon the need for hygiene and cleanliness the DC asked all the members present to undertake five-day long programme for cleaning government offices, office premsies, pathways, toilets, public places, market areas, disposal of unusable vehicles, furniture, electrical equipments and weeding out of old files and records. He asked the town committees to keep the town areas clean, including providing potable drinking facilities and public toilet facilities.

The Executive Engineers of Public Health Engineering and Health and Family Welfare Departments were also told to supply sufficient quantities of phenol and bleaching powder to other departments so that they could use it in and around their offices.

Among others the meeting was attended by ADC Dasarat Das, Sidli CO Karmadev Brahma, Bijni CO Roseleen Das, all Heads of Departments including officials of BGR, Dhaligaon and NTPC, Salakati.
