KOKRAJHAR, August17: The Chirang district administration on Sunday observed Shok Divas in the conference hall of the DC’s Office at Kajalgaon. This was informed by the DIPRO, Chirang.
Shok Divas was observed to mourn the tragic death of innocent children killed in the bomb blast while attending the Independence Day celebration at Dhemaji in 2004. In this connection, the members present observed one minute silence in memory of the children and other persons who lost their lives and took pledge to act against all acts of terrorism and violence.
A short meeting was also held under the president ship of Chirang Deputy Commissioner Rupak Kr. Mazumdar where he and other officials spoke about working unitedly for peace and harmony and raised their voices against all acts of militant or terrorist violence. The programme was attended by ADC Dasarat Das, Sidli Circle Officer Karmadev Brahma, and all District Heads of the Departments, leading citizens and official staff.
