Chirang district administration starts campaign for cashless transaction

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 20: The Chirang district administration has started a campaign to impart training for cashless transactions and to create awareness among the citizens by holding meetings and visiting markets at different locations. Meanwhile, it has already organized two training programmes involving its officials like COs, BDOs, VCDC chairmen, members and 27 CSCs operators to eble them to be resource persons for generating awareness in their areas with the master trainers coming from the State Government.

Similar training-cum-awareness programme was also organized on Tuesday in the conference hall of the DC office under the president ship of Chirang Deputy Commissioner Binod Kr. Deka.

“The government is focusing and encouraging cashless transaction in every commercial activity of our day-to-day life. Therefore, we have also undertaken constant campaign to make the people aware on the subject,” Deka said while addressing the gathering. He also requested the officers to seek help of banks and magement experts for any issues regarding digital transactions. In the training, the expert trainer from Common Service Centre (CSC), yanjyati Ray explained about various free wallet apps like Paytm, SBI buddy, UPI, e-wallet, USSD and how to register in these apps and their use in adding money, transferring money from one another, paying electricity and mobile bills, recharging DTH services, booking railway and air tickets, including use of cards like debit cards, credit cards, prepaid cards, swipe machine, internet banking and mobile banking.

Among others, ADC Diganta Baishya, COs, EOs, ACs, district heads of different departments, bank officials, media persons, heads of social organizations, officials from e-district were present in the meeting.
