Chutia students body's foundation day observed

DHEMAJI, Sept 20: The 10th central foundation day of the All Assam Chutia Students’ Union (AACSU) was held at the Donyi-Polo cultural complex here on September 10 and 11.

On the first day, the OC of Silapathar PS, Abdul Han opened the gate of the foundation day programme. The flag of AACSU was hoisted by Khirod Saikia, president (incharge), while smriti tarpan was done by Jyoti Prasad Chutia, general secretary of the body. The delegates’ session was also held on the day.

On the second day, a colourful cultural procession was taken out through the town with several cultural troupes from local communities. The open session was presided over by Khirod Saikia, president AACSU. The meeting was iugurated by Bisweswar Hazarika. The mouthpiece of AACSU, Sodiya, was released by literary pensioner Bipin Chutia in the meet.

Several speakers including the ex-president of AACSU, Pranjal Raj Khonikar, general secretary of Chutia Jati Sanmilan, Haren Chutia, president of Chutia Jati Sanmilan, Amiya Bora along with AJYCP’s Biraj Talukdar, Matak Chatra Santha’s Uday Sankar Mohan, Sonowal Kachari Students Union’s Ratan Kachari etc., spoke in the meet.
