Chutia Students' Union stages protest

Tinsukia, October 5:The members of All Assam Chutia Students’ Union Tinsukia district committee blocked tiol Highway 37 at Makum on Monday demanding tribal status. Rohim Saikia, General Secretary of Chutia Students’ Union Tinsukia district committee said that the state and the central government have failed to give tribal status to six ethnic tribes. He also stated that BJP’s promise to fulfill their demands have also failed.
