APSC cash-for-job scam

Lakhimpur, Nov 9: Aniruddha Roy, who secured an APSC job through fraudulent means, was the Circle Officer of Bogidi Revenue Circle in Lakhimpur district. In addition to this, he was in services of different offices in the district. The officer was arrested by a team of police from North Lakhimpur PS, led by OC Ghakanta Bhuyan, from his rented house at Gopi gar Colony in North Lakhimpur town as a part of the unprecedented development regarding the APSC cash-for-job scam.

He joined as Assistant Commissioner in the district on October 15, 2015 and then he was appointed as the CO of the Bogidi Revenue Circle. Further, he carried out the Additiol charge of Nowboicha Revenue Circle too from December 2016 to September 2017.

The district administration imposed upon him another charge of collecting the revenue of Telahi Mouza a few months ago as the mouzader of the mouza has been suspended for a long period. He was arrested as per the instruction intimated from the police department. On the other hand, two other COs of Gogamukh and Dhemaji Revenue Circle, mely Geetali Doley and Kamal Devth, who are also involved in the scam, remain untraced.
