Circle Officer visits flood affected areas in Kalaigaon

KALAIGAON, September 7: DN Hazarika, Circle Officer of Kalaigaon revenue circle, visited flood-affected areas like Bhehguri, Rupataland Shagunbahi under Kalaigaon on Wednesday. These areas were flooded on Tuesday because the River Noa overflowed due to heavy rainfall for the past few days. More than 100 bighas of standing crops were submerged and a PWD road mely Mekenzi at Bhehguri was also damaged by flood.

Hazarika told media persons after visiting these affected areas that he had asked the authority concerned of every department to take necessary action immediately for the victims. Meanwhile, a bamboo bridge on the road from Mekenzi to Rupatal could be washed away any moment and it is a vital communication link for this area. The Circle Officer said that he would ask the authority concerned to convert the bamboo bridge to a RCC bridge soon.
