Citizen consultation meeting for Smart City proposal

Itagar, Feb 6: Itagar Municipal Council (IMC) Deputy Chief Councillor Tarh chung on Sunday while addressing a citizens’ consultation meeting on ‘Smart city proposal of Itagar’ here, sought the support of all stakeholders to join the mission of making Itagar a smart city.

The 1,50,000 city population now have to fill the citizen feedback questionires forms and suggest the facilities for education, health, entertainment required for next 25 years as the project once approved would be beneficial for the denizens of capital. “Smart City, if implemented, could change the face of Aruchal Pradesh state capital but with the wholehearted involvement of all city dwellers,” said Price Waterhouse Coopers Pvt Ltd senior consultant Pawan Dwivedi. He pinpointed as to how the masses could prove to the central government their involvement in developing the city as a model. Hinting at questionires, website of IMC and the Centre, he said that this is a unique mission of the GoI which calls for persol association of the residents which would be visible through the monitoring system, he added.

I always say Aruchalees do not know what they do not know!” said Aruchal Chamber of Commerce & Industries chief adviser Pradeep Kumar Behera. He exhorted all the business communities of the capital to extend whole hearted support to Itagar Municipal Council in making Itagar a Smart City.

ACCI vice president Shillon Tajo, Itagar Market Welfare Association GS Biri Basang, Nirjuli BWC GS Tok Tabin Kamdir also addressed the gathering of hundreds of people from Itagar, harlagun and besides media persons, traders, NGO representatives and Officer of IMC. They have assured full co-operation to IMC for preparation of Smart City Proposal and took away thousands of feedback forms to distribute them to the shopkeepers and other stake holders. Itagar Municipal Council Executive Engineer cum Nodal Officer Smart City Tadar Tarang, highlighted the objectives and processes of winning smart city race and informed that so far over 40,000 feedback questionires forms have been distributed to the citizens. Further he has requested all the citizens of Capital Complex to participate as and when required for the success of the smart city proposal. Spot filling up of questionires and mock polling on ABD (Area Based Development) were also been conducted as part of sensitization.
