‘Citizenship Bill will not hamper BJP government’ - Ranjit Dass

Boko: BJP state president Ranjit Dass and General Secretary Dilip Saikia took part in an election rally of forthcoming Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) election which will be held on January 21. The meeting was held at Bamunigaon under Chaygaon LAC and the meeting was presided over by Dhaneswar Talukdar, BJP’s South Kamrup district president.

Many Rabha Hasong Joint Movement Committee leaders attended the meeting. There are total 36 constituencies in the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council area and BJP will contest in the three constituencies and the candidates are Mahesh Kalita from Bamunigaon constituency in Kamrup district and Sakuntola Medhi from Kothakothi constituency and Sushitra Nath from Agia constituency in Goalpara district. BJP state president Ranjit Dass took part in the rally for BJP candidate Mahesh Kalita from Bamunigaon constituency. “BJP will win in the all upcoming council elections. CAB 2016 will not hamper the BJP government as well as Rabha Hasong Joint Movement Committee,” he said.

Congress and Rabha Hasong Joint Movement Committee equally started their election campaign for the upcoming Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council election. Congress candidate Bhoglal Rabha of Khalihakoth constituency opened his temporary party office at Sisapith village in the presence of Sailen Hazowary, President of Congress election Committee.

During the opening of the office, Bhoglal Rabha said, “Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council’s members were corrupted. In the name of the community development, they only distributed hand pumps, blankets, yarns etc.”

Congress Candidate Kartik Rabha from Luki constituency also opened his temporary party office at Ghilabari village. On the other hand AGP (Assam Gana Parishad) also filed their candidates in the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council area. They filed one candidate in the Palashbari LAC (Legislative Assembly Constituency), four candidates in the Chaygaon LAC and two candidates in the Boko LAC. Lachit Rabha, AGP candidate of Luki constituency opened his temporary party office in the presence of Jyoti Das, Ex-MLA of Boko constituency.
