City teams reach semis in CBSE soccer

DIGBOI, Oct 14 : The 3rd day episode of the CBSE East Zone Cluster Football Tourment being underway here at the Jubilee Ground at Digboi was indeed characterized by overwhelming crowds inspite of frequent downpours without any signs of dampaging the spirits of the contending teams in the fields and spectatotrs around the stadium.

The team Mont Fort of Guwahati emerged winner following a severe blow to team Sarla Birla Gyanjyoti of Guwahti by 9-0 in U-19 segment thus qualifying itself for the semis to prove its metal against the team G.

Rio of Guwahati that also entered into the semis to collide with the antagonist team G Rio on Sunday after defeating the team Kaziranga English academyof Guwahati this afternoon by 4-3.

Meanwhile, the team Little Stars Digboi vanquishing team DPS Digboi by 5-0 in U-19 category today would strive for the similar glory in the second quarter fils to be played on Sunday against the team South Point of Guwahati, while the battle of the supremacy in the 1st quarter would be played between the team faculty School of Guwahati and Holly Cross of Guwahati. Team Faculty had defeated team ST. Fransis of Guwahati today.

However, the emerging qualifiers of the two quarter fils slated today would further face each other in the semis to be played the same day on Sunday morning.

Significantly, in U -17 segment team Sainik School of Gwalpara emerged victorious after washing away team Kaziranga English Academy of Guwahati by 1-0 while Sainik School galand rendered a worst defeat to team Little Stars of Digboi in the same category by 7-0.
