Civic action programme by CRPF along Assam-galand border

GOLAGHAT (Dhekial), Oct 5: 142 Bn CRPF carried out Civic Action Programme in ‘D’ Sector (DAB) Meerapani of Golaghat district recently under the fincial year 2017-18. In the programme, the 142 Bn CRPF distributed LED solar lamps to poor families of Assam and galand border residents of ‘D’ Sector Meerapani. Besides, two concrete girls’ toilets with running water facility were constructed by CRPF at Dr. KN Saikia Girls’ High School, Meerapani.

On the other hand, a friendly football tourment was also held at Veluguri, Khcroni ME School playground in the memory of CRPF martyr Emanual Darlong who sacrified his life in 2009 for the tion. Both winner and runners-up teams were rewarded each with trophy, football, football net, medals and proficiency certificate. Moreover, sports kits were also distributed to remaining teams accordingly. Lulit Bora was selected as the best player of the tourment. Om Prakash, Commandant, 142 Bn CRPF, appealed to the people of ‘DAB’ area to maintain peace and tranquility and law and order.
