Civic Action Programme launched

Shillong, Jan 21: AS part of Border Magement Plan, a Civic Action Programme was organized by the BSF at Mahendrganj in South West Garo Hills of Meghalaya on January 20, a press release stated. At the outset Sudesh Kumar, Inspector General of BSF Meghalaya Frontier addressed border residents drawn from area of 14 Border Outposts under 23 Battalion BSF under South West Garo Hills District. The Inspector General brought out the role being performed by the BSF in Border Magement and the growing participation of border population. People could now see a visible change on border. Various recruitments in CAPFs and opportunities lying ahead were brought out. Youths from border were encouraged to appear for recruitment in CAPFs and assured them full assistance from BSF side to make their dreams a reality. With doors now open for women in CAPFs, he called upon young boys and girls to make CAPFs as a career.
