Civic woes of residents of Dibrugarh town

From a Correspondent

Dibrugarh, Jan 5: Dibrugarh Municipal Board once again finds itself on a sticky wicket as some serious accusations have been levied against the body by the residents. The body has been accused of being negligent to the timely and systematic cleaning of many drains in the town.  This casual attitude has become all the more apparent in its handling of the drain in G lane of the Milan gar area. Although the cleaning work started around three months back, it was left in an incomplete manner. Moreover, the soil dug out from the drain has been lying on the roadside, causing major inconvenience to the commuters. Moreover, the locals have also been demanding for a dustbin to the east of the G lane, but to no avail.

Additiolly, the drains located underneath the footpaths on either side of the RKB path have also not been cleaned despite the fact that the same irresponsible behaviour had led to the overflowing of the drains during last year’s monsoon rainfall.
