Civil disobedience movement in Dhubri

DHUBRI, July 13: The gorikotto Suraksha Samiti on Monday staged a civil disobedience protest in Dhubri. The organization also took out a rally from Shakardev Children’s Park to the Deputy Commissioner’s office and submitted a memorandum seeking immediate address to their demands. Among the various demands of the organization, the main demands were related to NRC and D voter’s issue. It needs to be mentioned here that, the organization has urged upon the government to resolve the D voter’s issue before updating the NRC. It has also urged upon the government to provide legacy data based on the voter’s list of 1951 and 1971. The protest rally was joined by more than 500 people including the likes of Azahar Hussain and Karimuddin.
