Civil society urges to apply law equally

<p>&nbsp;From our correspondent&nbsp;</p>

<div>Itagar, Aug 4: Aruchal Civil Society (ACS) Chairman Patey Tayum has said that law should be applied equally to all without discrimition of any kind.&nbsp;</div>

<div>&nbsp;&ldquo; It seems laws do not apply to rich and powerful in Capital Complex. It is for the poor and weaker sections only,&rdquo; Tayum said in a statement here on Friday.</div>

<div>While numerous multi-storey buildings are being built illegally dismantling government quarters, many such quarters are still under illegal occupation despite government notification to vacate, he said.</div>

<div>He alleged that the administration was prompt in taking action against the poor sections of the society but it cannot take any concrete action against the rich and powerful ones.</div>

<div>&ldquo; It is a pity on the part of the administration to remain a silent spectator to these illegalities,&rdquo; he said.</div>

<div>&nbsp;&nbsp; The ACS Chairman also said that applications of many ordiry people, who had applied for land allotment a decade ago, &lsquo;are still under process.&rsquo;</div>
