Clamour for transfer of Bhadoi police official

DULIAJAN, May 13: Various organisations like All Tai Ahom Students’ union (ATASU), All Assam Gorkha Students Union (AAGSU), Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity (KMSS), Brihottor Asomiya Yuba Mancha (BAYM) and 2 No. Kathalguri Mahila Samity of Duliajan Regiol committies has been demanding immediate transfer of Bhadoi police outpost in-charge Biswajit Sarmah from the Bhadoi beat alleging assault on a college student for which the youth suffered a cardiac attack.
These organisations blamed the Police in-charge Biswajit Sarmah of assaulting Bitupon Gogoi a resident of 2 No. Kathaguri under Bhadoi police beat on the night of May 2. Bitupon Gogoi had to be admitted to a hospital for a cardiac attack. Gogoi is student of Duliajan College. Besides this, they alleged that under the leadership of Biswajit Sarma various illegal activities are also increasing.
Tonkeswar Buragohain and Toofan Handiue, president and secretary of Duliajan regiol committee of ATASU, Rat Thapa and Ramesh Subedi, president and Secretary of Duliajan Ancahlik Committee of AAGSU, Khiteswar Sonowal and Subhan Gogoi, president and Secretary of KMSS, Duliajan Regiol committee, Bhaben Sonowal and Arup Borthakur, president and secretary of BAYM and Manjula Buragohain and Monorama Sonowal, president and secretary of 2 no. Kathalguri mahila samity has demanded immediate transfer of Biswajit Sarmah within 15th May and if not met their demand at the earliest they threatened to take protest against the administration with the support of people.
