Clean Aruchal Fortnight' to mark 30th Statehood Day

Itagar, Jan 12: With the motto and the theme “My city, My pride! I’ll Clean It”, “Clean Aruchal Fortnight” will be observed from February 1 to 13 next as a curtain raiser to the much awaited 30 years of Aruchal Pradesh Statehood Day celebration on February 20 this year.

A brainchild of Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi, this campaign is aimed at keeping Aruchal Pradesh clean for a healthy environment where each and every citizen of the state is a stakeholder, an official communiqué informed.

A prelimiry meeting was convened by Chief Secretary with Commissioner General Administration, Secretary Fince, Secretary Planning, Secretary Art and Culture, DC Capital, Chief Estate Officer, and representatives of Urban Development and PWD as members in the latter office today.

Action plan to materialize the campaign is being worked out and concerned deputy commissioners will work out the plans for their respective districts.

However, there will be nine zones in Itagar and four zones in harlagun to ensure complete cleanliness drive where every stakeholder will render one hour of social service in the morning during the fortnight. The students will take part in this campaign within the school and neighbourhood.

The state government appeals all the NGOs and Citizens to actively participate in this campaign to make it a grand success, the communiqué added.
