FROM OUR STAFF CORRESPONDENT
SHILLONG, April 12: As part of the “Our Hills, Our River, Our Place, Our Responsibility”, the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) organized a cleaning drive of the Ganol riverside. President of the MPYC Richard M Marak said that this is a cosmetic activity but a path breaking move after we have seen that there is scarcity of water even in the villages. “We have decided to lead the way by first cleaning up this portion of the Ganol riverside. Water is a life giver and in these hills there should not be a scarcity of water,” stated Marak.  He also said, “Not only should our rivers be clean, proper magement of catchment areas should be maintained. We hope that in the future we can do more with the help of the youth in particular and the people in general.” The event was a success and it was attended by more than 200 members including the former Tura Lok Sabha Youth Congress President Septerwin R Sangma and the present MPYC President Richard M Marak.
