Cleanliness campaign planned in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH, March 13: Along with the rest of the country, tiol Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) and Sanitation Awareness Programme (SAP) Week will be observed here from March 16 under the joint aegis of the district administration and Public Health Engineering (PHE) department.

 A mass cleanliness campaign will kick off from Chowkidinghi playground at 7 am on March 16. The programme will be extended to various parts of the town by involving government officials, employees,   NGOs, office bearers of market committee, and employees, staffs of various nursing homes.  

To create awareness, a procession will be brought out by associating the student community.

In order to create awareness among the masses, a semir will be held at the block level on March 17 which will be followed by street meetings, cycle rallies, procession, cleanliness campaigns, screening camps to determine water quality, besides drawing, quiz and extempore speech competitions amongst the  school students in block level.

The week-long programme will conclude with a marathon run christened as “Clean Dibrugarh Green Dibrugarh”.
