Cleanliness drive at Chamuapara village

TANGLA, Oct 15: In connection with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a cleanliness drive was organized  by Mula-Gabharu and Chamuapara-Balipara Jagrata Women’s Village Organization (VO) at Chamuapara village on the outskirts of Tangla town on Sunday. The drive, which started at Chamuapara Wings’ Club, covered the village, including Tangla College road, in which nearly 200 women, including SHG members, VCDC members and prominent women persolities of the locality, actively participated. An awareness meeting was also held in the evening which was chaired by Chamuapara VCDC chairman Dinesh Boro and addressed at length by Community Resource Person of  Chamuapara and Ratanpur VCDC, Madhabi Bora.

The Village Organization (VO) promoted under tiol Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) is an organization formed by a number of self-help groups in order to bring socio-economic changes among the members of the groups and the village at large. VLO is envisaged primarily to play the role of a fincial intermediary along with providing services like book keeping and bank linkages to SHGs, besides taking up social and developmental issues.
