Cleanliness drive at New Haflong Railway station

Haflong, September 21: To create awareness among the people and also among the Railway employees and as part of the Swach Bharat Abhijan, the Railway employees organized a massive cleanliness drive followed by plantation of trees at New Haflong Railway Station on Wednesday.

More than hundred employees belonging to Engineering, Traffic, Railway Protection Force, took part in the massive cleanliness drive and more than 100 saplings provided by the Dima Hasao Forest department were planted at the station premises and in the newly constructed amusement park near the station.

Talking to this correspondent, PP Das, Assistant Divisiol Engineer and Anil Kumar, Station Superintendent, said that they organized the event as a part of Swachh Bharat Abhijan to bring awareness among the people as well as among the railway employees to keep the environment clean and people friendly. They said they would organize such plantation and cleanliness drives in future also. Both the railway officials appealed to the people to keep the station clean and beautiful.
