Close relatives of Congress bigwigs aspire for tickets in gaon

GAON, February 29: The countdown has started among the ticket aspirants of various parties in gaon district.  In gaon Sadar constituency, Barhampur, Rupahihat, Batradaba and Dhing, there are many influential and powerful aspirants in the same party. For example, in gaon Sadar constituency along with sitting MLA Dr Durlav Chamua, this time former NSUI State president and Youth Congress leader, Mril Hazarika is aspiring for Congress ticket and is being considered as a serious challenge to Dr Chamua. In Barhampur constituency there are two people who are top contenders for party ticket. Suresh Bora is a strong youth leader in Barhampur. But he will face challenge from another strong youth leader and former NSUI State president and present APCC general secretary Bibhuti Borthakur. Likewise, in Rupahihat constituency, there are three strong ticket aspirants in the Congress. They are Salma Yasmin, sister-in law of former MLA of Rupahihat, Rashidul Haque. Another contender is Nurul Huda who is a close associate of minister Rakibul Hussain. The third aspirant is zrul Islam who is the brother-in-law of minister Hussain. Among them already in 2011 assembly polls Salma Yasmin got the party ticket and lost the seat. Nurul Huda had played a big role in the consecutive victory of Rakibul Hussain in Samaguri during the last three assembly polls.   In Batradaba there are two strong aspirants who are trying to attract voters and also draw the attention of the Congress high command. One is sitting Congress MLA and former minister Gautam Bora and the other is Sivamoni Bora, who is the daughter of former MLA of the constituency, Kiran Bora and also the sister-in-law of former Chief Minister, Golap Borbora.
