Close Shave for Assam Police Traffic Policeman and Many as Truck Hits Streetlight Post, Jorhat

JORHAT: It was a close shave for an Assam Police traffic policeman and other people at the Doss & Co point near Jorhat Police station in Jorhat city on Thursday. Police sources said a goods-laden truck bearing registration no. PB 09X-7897 entered the city during the restricted period after allegedly bribing police personnel on duty at three different points - NH-37 bypass point, Baruah Charali, and Sankar Hall point. The truck hit a streetlight post in front of Jorhat Police Station. A traffic policeman and other people had a lucky escape. The driver was allegedly in an inebriated condition. The truck was finally intercepted at the PWD point Garali and the driver and handyman were taken to the Sadar Police Station.
