Closure of firecracker shops

SIVASAGAR, Oct 28: With the festival of lights Diwali falling on October 30, a ghastly day of blood and tears in the history of Assam, the wholesalers of firecrackers in Sivasagar announced that they would put the shutters of their firecracker shops down on October 30 this year as a mark of respect to the victims. Wholesalers Dulal Saha, Pradip Pachani, Surendra Toshniwal, Nitupar Gogoi and others announced this during a meeting with officials recently.
