Clusters urged to submit proposals for development schemes

Donkamokam, July 2: On Sunday at Tumpreng Village Development Committee (VDC) office, under Rongkhang Development Block, Donkamokam, VDC Development Plan meeting for Bithung Rengthama MAC Constituency was held where resource teacher from Extension Centre, State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development (SIPRD) Amoni gaon, Chandan Kr Das attended. Das held an interactive meet with SHGs cluster group leaders and elderly persons regarding the problems faced by the community in village level and also to sort those out. “This problem in the village is due to non-fulfilment of the required schemes which is utmost necessary in the area, and so this time we have given free hand to clusters and SHGs to submit proposal for most necessary schemes on priority basis in the stipulated time,” the resource person said.

BDO Sashikanta Timung of Rongkhang Development Block said that their main aim was to bring consciousness among the rural folks and also the job card holders about transparency in their wages, amount sanctioned for the schemes and others.  He further said that the proposed schemes given by clusters under Rongkhang Block would be approved and estimate would be prepared at the Project Director’s office (PD), DRDA on July 20 for speedy sanctioning of the scheme and urged the clusters to submit the proposal on or before July 13.

A rally was also taken out in the entire Tumpreng area to educate the people of the area with placards in their hands.  Similar programmes will be held in every development block of Karbi Anglong.
