CM calls upon government servants to maintain uprightness and integrity

Lakhimpur, Oct 2: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal made a fervent call to the people of the state for a pledge to make cleanliness as a way of life.  The Chief Minister made this call while taking part in the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, Swachh Bharat Divas and closing ceremony of Swachhta Hi Seva at Bihpuria Sports Association Playground in Lakhimpur district on Monday. The programme was organized by Mission Directorate of Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), Assam in association with Lakhimpur District Water & Sanitation Committee.
Stating good deeds and clean thoughts as prerequisite for good governce, the Sonowal called upon the public representatives and government servants to maintain uprightness and integrity in their work.  He also underlined the importance of ethics in building a strong society and said that no persolity can be strong enough without a sturdy moral foundation. 
Coinciding the celebration, Chief Minister Sonowal awarded lbari and Sonitpur district for their excellence in implementation of Swachh Bharat  Mission in their respective districts. He also gave away prizes to winners of various state and district level competitions which were held in connection with the Swachhta Hi Seva programme.
Prior to the celebration, Chief Minister Sonowal offered floral tribute to the Father of the tion at the programme venue. Later Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal also took part in the Gandhi Jayanti celebration organized by Bihpuria-rayanpur District Freedom Fighters’ Association at Madhabdev College today and laid the foundation stone of a Muktijujaru Bhavan to be set up at rayanpur.
