Itagar, May 19: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister bam Tuki on Monday approved release of three months salaries for the employees of district rural development agencies (DRDAs).

Tuki, during a meeting convened with state chief secretary, Rural Development (RD) commissioner and director of the department approved release of 718.86 lakh against salaried for the month of January to March last, an official communiqué informed here today.The chief minister observed that undue delays of the payment of salaries to the DRDA employees are due to late and non-submission of full utilization certificates by few DRDA’s to the Centre and carrying forward of previous years backlogs to the current year forced the central government to release fund at the fag end of March last.

Regarding absorption of DRDA employees in the line department, Tuki observed that as per DRDA guidelines, the employees are to be drawn on deputation or on contractual basis. However, the contractual appointees have been regularized in posts in various categories in the line departments, he said.“It will take some more to streamline the issue with line departments,” he added.

The chief minister also informed that the state government has extended central sixth pay commission benefit to the employees of the DRDA’s and shouldering more fincial burden in comparison to other organizations and institutions, the communiqué added.
