CM exhorts youths to follow ideals of Vaishva Gurus

Sonowal  urges the people to dissuade all corrupt practices and join hands with the Government for establishing good governce

GUWAHATI, Jan 20: Recalling the contributions of Haridev, a Vaishvite Guru in strengthening the greater Assamese society, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal called upon the young generation to follow his ideals and other Vaishvite Gurus like Sankardev, Madhabdev and Damodardev for building a cohesive and harmonious society in Assam.

Addressing the 40th bi-ennial conference of Uttar Pub Bharat Haridev Sangha at Tihu High School Playground today, Chief Minister Sonowal stressed on the need to carry forward the harmonious legacy of the Vaishvite Gurus for building a resurgent Assam.

The Chief Minister further stated that traditiolly Assam was a strong tion and to reclaim its past glory, people of the State would have to exert more dedication and hard work in every walk of their life.

Stating that good governce can come through good thoughts and clean mind, Sonowal said that people of Assam have mandated his government to create a clean society.

Keeping this in mind, the Government has adopted a zero tolerance attitude against corruption and has unleashed a war against all corrupt practices, Sonowal added.

The Chief Minister further urged the people to dissuade all corrupt practices and join hands with the Government for establishing good governce.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the ‘Housing for all’ initiative taken up by the Government through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yoja (Gramin) in the State and asked the people to be more cautious and alert so that no nefarious element can indulge in corrupt practices, which promises an environmentally safe and secure pucca house to every rural household by 2022 in the State.

Citing various examples from the past about the hardworking ture of the Assamese community, Chief Minister Sonowal urged the people to show more integrity towards their calling and strengthen the foundation of a robust State.

The Chief Minister also assured to give serious consideration to the problems plaguing the Tihu region in the conference.

Earlier, Patacharkuchi MLA Pabindra Deka delivering the welcome address highlighted the contributions of Haridev and the role of the Sangha in overall development of the State.

lbari MLA Ashok Sarma also spoke on the occasion.

Organizing Committee president Bhagaban Kalita, Central Committee president of the Sangha Radha Bora, Executive president Satyendra th Goswami, social worker Phani Pathak and host of followers of Haridev were present in the bi-ennial conference.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Chief Minister also visited Tihu College and took stock of academic environment of the institution.
