CM handed over cash awards to players

GUWAHATI, Dec 6: State Level Advisory Committee (SLAC) handed over cash award and fincial assistance to players and the different sports associations respectively in a function held at the Shraddhanjali Kan today. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi attended the function as a chief guest. Altogether 16 intertiol medal winners today received cash award from Rs 50,000 to Rs 3,00000 according to their performances.14 players, who participated in the different intertiol meets, also received cash award of Rs 50,000 each. On the other hand cash award was given Para Olympic players and few coaches too. Addressing the gathering Gogoi today said that Assam has made significant progress in sports and his government will try its best to keep continue the support so that more talent can reach their goals . He also handed over cash award to few players which included Sahil Dey, Kabyanil Talukdar, Molisa Sonowal, Lovli Borgohain, Sanjoy Boro, Laimwn rzary, Chiranjita Bharali, Vikesh Kumar and Anyatam Rajkumar.15 state Sports Associations today received fincial assistance in the same function. Meanwhile  boxer Shiva Thapa was med as the most popular sports person award in boys section while Rekha Rani Gogoi got the same award in girls category. Assam Sports Minister Ajit Singh, Debabrata Saikia, Member Secretary, state level Advisory Committee and few other dignitaries were also present in the function. Most popular youth icon award went to singer Angarag Mahanta.
