CM inaugurates Civil Services Day

Shillong, April 20: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today inaugurated the Civil Services Day 2018 at a function held at the State Convention Centre, Shillong. The theme of this year’s celebration was ‘Improving Public Service Delivery Through Innovations’. In attendance were senior IAS, IPS, IFS MCS, MPC and SFS officers of the State led by the Meghalaya Chief Secretary Y Tsering.

Speaking as the Chief Guest, the Chief Minister congratulated the civil servants present and commended them on the service rendered to the people of the State over the years. He also reminded them that while performing their duties they should always keep in mind the bigger picture, which will enable them make the right decisions at all times. Citing that the goal of the government is to make a difference in the lives of its people, he urged the civil servants to utilise their knowledge and vast experience in making a difference in the lives of the people. Referring to the theme of the celebration, the Chief Minister stated that innovation is not subjected only to technology.
