CM iugurates 38th Raax Leela celebration at Mangaldai

MANGALDAI, Nov 3: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal during his first official visit to Mangaldai on Friday ceremonially iugurated the 38th Sri Krish Raax Leela at Mangaldai Bishnu Mandir complex and became the first Chief Minister to grace the iugural function. Iugurating the Raax Leela by lighting a traditiol earthen lamp, Chief Minister Sonowal described the cultural heritage of Darrang district as one of richest in the State with a unique identity.

“It is high time and also the need of the hour to resist all evil forces to protect and preserve the rich cultural heritage and own identity. Cleanliness is always next to Godliness and all section of the society should maintain cleanliness in all spheres. Assam has all the potentiality and possibilities to transform it into one of the richest and prosperous State of the country,” said the Chief Minister.

He also laid stress on launching a ‘zehad’ against all corruption. Earlier Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das extended a hearty welcome to the Chief Minister with his welcome speech. Parliamentarian Ramen Deka, Sipajhar legislator Binda Kumar Saikia, Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Barman, Xatradhikar of Ram Rai Xatra of Dhuburi Jitendra th Pradhani, BJP’s Darrang district Committee President Nilima Devi also attended the iugural function. Earlier singer of reputation Pranjal Sarma performed a devotiol song.
