CM iugurates Dr Bhupen Hazarika Mukali Manch at Boko

BOKO, September 8: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi iugurated the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Mukali Manch Aru Udyan at Bondapara under Boko Development Block. The ambitious Dr Bhupen Hazarika Mukali Mancha Aru Udyan project was undertaken by the Panchayat and Rural Development department under the Chief Minster’s dream project. It was iugurated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika. Similar programmes were held in 187 blocks across Assam.

The Dr Bhupen Hazarika Mukali Manch Aru Udyan project was undertaken last year. On November 5, 2014, total 219 foundation stones were laid all across Assam covering all the blocks on the occasion of Dr Hazarika’s death anniversary. The Panchayat and Rural Development department completed all that 219 open stages on time but due to floods, iuguration of one open stage was delayed.

After iuguration, a cultural programme was held where Samar Hazarika sang his brother Bhupen Hazarika’s songs.
