CM lauds role of Rabha community in State's progress

Guwahati, February 14: The four day 15th biennial conference of all Rabha Students' Union and 8th Biennial Conference of all Rabha Women Council held at Kalaguru Bishnuprasad Rabha Samany Kshetra at Chaygaon concluded today.

Speaking at the open meeting held on the occasion Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that the Rabha people have been contributing a lot towards progress of the State. He also said that the Rabha people along with other ethnic groups made a greater Assamese culture. He assured a special package for all round development of the Rabha people and Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council. Acknowledging the potential of the Rabha community in the fields of education, art, culture, literature and agriculture, Gogoi said that the community along with the Autonomous Council area will be the most prosperous in the next 10 years. He also said that his government would increase the flow of fund to bolster the expedite development of the community.

Parliamentary Secretary, Education Reikibuddin Ahmed speaking on the occasion stressed on the role of the Rabha community in making the state colourful and diverse. He also said the the Rabha community have their own unique identity and culture and lauded their role in making the state so rich and diverse.

Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Dr. J. Balaji along with a host other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
